Hommage to Taylor Swift’s Last Kiss.
I may have mentioned that the real Tyler and I actually listened to this song on our final visit together before we broke up. I think we both knew deep down that we’d never see each other again, but at the time, I couldn’t believe that it mirrored our exact journey together. This song is so important to me and I remember falling in love with it when Taylor Swift released it in 2010. I had no idea it would foreshadow one of the relationships that I would have in the future. Destiny? Fate? Well, I believe this happened for a reason and I am grateful for the life lesson this has taught me.
There are several lyrics from the song that have been dabbled through the novel including “That July Ninth”, “1:58am”, “I ran off the plane”, “rude interruptions”. The whole song mirrors the plot of Fallen Through, which hints at the tragic ending of the relationship and how it will never be the same…
