Fallen Through is based on a true story, and as such, every name has been changed… Except for two—my dad’s, Allan, and my grandmother’s, Joy. They are two of the most important people in my life, and were a part of this very beautiful story. But I couldn’t find it in me to change their name as their character is who they are as people. Family is so important to me, and I had to honour them to some extent in my novel.
Kieran and Mikayla were also characters in Fallen Through that were inspired by people I had met in real life, however, they are fictitious characters and made up for the plot of the novel. They were not present for this period of my life and these characters were invented to ensure the story flowed in the direction I needed it to.
Every other name has been changed to ensure anonymity.
