Last Kiss – Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version)

During our happier days, I remember showing him this song, commenting on how the lyrics mirrored our situation; “That July Ninth. I still remember the look on your face, lit through the darkness at 1:58. I ran off the plane. I loved your handshake, meeting my father.

There were so many lyrics that fit into how we met and our circumstances, but as fate would have it, our story followed the tragedy of the song and we ended up strangers.

I remember the pregnancy scare and confiding in “Matthew” about it. I was so worried because it was late and I was foolish enough to engage in unprotected sex—but I wasn’t pregnant, thankfully, though there was a deranged part of me that hoped I was so I could see him again.

Last Kiss is one of my, if not, my favourite song and was the first one added to the playlist. It was our love story foreshadowed through song, and it is the song that relates most to Fallen Through. It will always be a part of me.
