Tyler, while high and panicked, races to Truant Reserve and sees the ghost of Della very early on in Fallen Through. Eventually, Tyler passes away there.
Tyler was never going to survive the events of Fallen Through and these instances allude to his eventual fate. The ghostly imagery reinforces how this was inevitable and the universe’s (or in this case, writer’s) way of giving clues that this was going to end this way.
