Chapter Thirty-Two

you were good to me – Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler

I still remember waking up that morning with him by my side. September 1st and utterly freezing. I also managed to crick my neck and it hurt for the whole day.

I can only imagine what occurred at his precious family dinner, which I was uninvited to, but I know it was a night that meant a lot to him. I know there was reconciliation, chicken nuggets, and a lot of laughter. He really did love his family, especially his mum, and I know he regretted not hugging her more.

I appreciated the phone call, even though it woke me up, with him taking school off and surprising me in the morning. We fell back asleep together as he whispered over and over that we could work this out. He planted so many kisses on my ears until I drifted off again.
