Prologue

Who Knew – P!nk.

I know A LOT of people who skip the Prologue of a novel and for those of you who have skipped mine, here’s your official Spoiler Warning.

It is very much implied that Della and Tyler aren’t in each other’s lives as the prologue is set three years later, and it makes you wonder how on Earth a relationship where they each cared very deeply for each other could end up this way. Who Knew by P!nk is a song I listened to a lot when I was younger and upon listening to it years later, it just hit different. The music video is a masterpiece and cleverly tells a similar story to what ours was. I’d very much suggest a listen during your reading as lyrics such as “That last kiss, I’ll cherish, until we meet again” just hits so close to home (which is also on the nose to ANOTHER song I’ll reference at some point) and the slow build up perfectly parallels the pace of this novel.
